Together with our trusted partners, we have completed the construction works for the Galati Multimodal Platform (PMG) - Stage II - "Modernizing the road infrastructure to eliminate traffic bottlenecks and relocating a railway segment to streamline rail traffic in the port area," for the beneficiary The Ports Administration of the Maritime Danube National Company.

PThe project represents a phase of the Investment Program "Galati Multimodal Platform - eliminating major bottlenecks by modernizing existing infrastructure and ensuring missing connections for the central Rhine-Danube/Alps network" and aims to make investments in road and rail access infrastructure to the port.
The executed works ensure the adaptation of the transport infrastructure in the Port of Galati and the marshalling areas to modern logistical needs and the optimization of connections with national roads and railway networks.

Impact on Galati County:
- Promoting the use of inland waterways and maritime transport on the Rhine-Danube corridor through the modernization of basic port infrastructure and support of transshipment operations in the Port of Galati;
- Increasing safety conditions and enhancing the quality of transport services;
- Attracting foreign investors;
- Creating new jobs (by hiring personnel who will work at the terminal, by increasing the activity of economic operators operating in the port area);
- Boosting the local economy by integrating new companies into the intermodal transport value chain in the manufacturing and services sectors;
- Developing the Port of Galati by attracting new cargo flows.

Concrete Platform – RO-RO Berths

Another important project in which we are involved together with our associates – trusted partners – is the “RO-RO Berths Development” project at New Basin Port of Galati for the beneficiary CN APDM SA Galati – works that will be completed by the end of this year.
The project creates the conditions for increasing traffic in Galati Port, reducing loading/unloading times, improving the safety of port operations, and enhancing access conditions to the port infrastructure in New Basin Port of Galati.
The project includes the following works:
- Development of the berthing front related to berths 39 and 40;
- Development of the RO-RO ramp at berth 41, at the end towards berth 40;
- Rehabilitation of the existing stone-pitched quay at the end of the multimodal platform;
- The berths will be equipped with water supply and sewerage systems, electricity supply networks, and public lighting;
- Dredging works to ensure the required depth at the berthing quays.
Objectives/benefits:
- Development of Galati Port as a center of economic growth for the South-East and North-East development regions;
- Connection of Galati Port to Black Sea ports that have RO-RO or RO-PAX facilities;
- Connection of Galati Port to the multimodal transport system on the Upper Danube;
- Increase in multimodal traffic volume, especially for motor vehicles;
- Facilitating vehicle access in order to increase local and transit tourism;
- Modernization of port infrastructure;
- Reduction of energy consumption through the use of alternative energy;
- Improvement of service quality through the digitization of information flow, simplification of port and customs procedures, development of personnel services, and a vessel monitoring system;
- Creation of new jobs.
